In 2011, TUMI introduced the TUMI Takes You Home event where TUMI donates travel cases specially designed for the patients and families at St. Jude to help them travel to and from the hospital for treatment. This year, TUMI will produce a limited-edition collection of custom-made travel cases inspired by the artwork of St. Jude patients for our annual TUMI Takes You Home event.
TUMI is working to better understand and manage the environmental issues associated with its operations and the operations of its business partners.
TUMI has partnered with Pratt Institute Center for Sustainable Design Studies and Design Incubator for Sustainable Innovation to conduct a life cycle study of a wheeled travel case and a business brief. Based on suggestions from the Pratt Institute, TUMI has made some initial progress in finding alternative material compositions to reduce environmental impact. Additionally, the repair team in Vidalia now works diligently with outside vendors to ensure that all metals, specifically aluminum, are appropriately recycled.
Our repair teams throughout the world work tirelessly to restore damaged bags before we offer new replacement product. Not only is this a cost-effective solution for our customers, but also helps to reduce unnecessary waste.
From printer paper in our corporate headquarters to cardboard boxes, metals, and plastic bags in our distribution centers, all of our facilities strive to adhere to sensible recycling guidelines.
TUMI encourages innovation, creativity and flexibility that fosters a dynamic and competitive organization and provides the resources which will enable associates to perform their jobs at the highest level possible while maintaining an equally high standard of business conduct and ethics and abiding by all government rules and regulations pertaining to TUMI's business.

We routinely verify our suppliers by using our internal audit program to assess supplier’s Environment, Human Rights and Health & Safety practices. Additionally, we accepted WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) to certify and monitor our social compliance initiatives. WRAP is an independent, objective, non-profit team of global social compliance experts dedicated to promoting safe, lawful, humane and ethical manufacturing around the world through certification and education, all key suppliers are required to certify WRAP.
