Comments about Tegra-Lite® Max Large Trip Expandable Packing Case:

I bought a set, large to small. It saves me from paying excess baggage fees. The airlines are not forgiving and they are greedy these days. A few pounds will cost you $75 to $100 for international flight. I purchased the handbag and weekender, which can be tagged easily with the handle, go well with the luggages. Very easy to roll along, a small child can do the job himself. If you afraid of airport rough handling, get a clear cover for trips to China and Latin countries. Domestic flights should be fine. I use Tumi a few times a year. They cater all sort of complaints and the Tumi boutique is willing to exchange a new one for you at no cost. Great customer service.

Comments about Tegra-Lite® Max Large Trip Expandable Packing Case:

Love everything about this case except the expandable zipper... We are currently on a 2 month long road trip across Europe.. Before embarking, since my girlfriend stole my tummi alpha bravo 2 large case, I purchased an aluminum zero haliburton.. worst mistake ever!! it didn't last our intitial trip back hoe for christmas, on which, we flew first class.. apparently, delta baggage handlers think it's a game to see how badly they can destroy one of these things cause mine had over 40 dents amongst scratches.. and, was completely opened when I retrieved it from the carousel.. I digress.. When home, i purchased the tummi Large Tegra-lite max to replace the haliburton.

Overall, I am generally happy with the Tumi.. But the zipper, for the expandable option, completely popped off at our second hotel, when the bellman was sliding the case into our suv.. the zipper is on the bottom, runner side of the case.. if you are to slide the case into a rear cargo area, there is the possibility of that bottom zipper catching and pulling off.. so, now what to do? I'm in the first week of a 2 month long road trip and theres' no way to re-seal a zipper that slowly creeps further and further along it's guides.. "it's expandable, so what?", you ask? well, when the case is packed, it naturally expands, when it's expanded, it loosed structural strength and becomes more difficult to deal with.. for you, this may not be a problem, but for me, a man, that's in charge of all of his luggage, as well as is girlfriend's luggage and all of the things bought on a 2 month long raod trip, this becomes cumbersome.. additionally, now I don't feel comfortable packing semi-delicates, in there, because of the lack of structure, when expanded..
other than that, I love the case.. I own over 15 tummi products and have been happy with every single one.. heck, I gave carry ons to all of my employees, last christmas.. When we return to the states, I will either have repaired or try to swap out for the nonexpendable option
