Tumi elevates your travel experience with Alpha 2, the pinnacle of our design innovation, engineering, functionality and performance. Alpha 2 embodies Tumi’s commitment to making the best better; it incorporates over 30 design improvements and more than 14 patented and trademarked Tumi components. The result is a collection of cases that are lighter and stronger while offering increased packing capacity, sleeker profiles, smarter functionality and easier maneuverability. Collection highlights include: 4-wheel cases with 360° wheels that are recessed into the bodies of the cases to provide more interior space, a lower center of gravity and stable multi-directional navigation, our patented Durafold™ Construction method that reinforces the case frames for superior strength and longevity, impact-resistant caps that provide additional corner durability, and our super-tough and virtually damage-proof X-Brace 45® handle system. Many of the 4-wheel cases feature three-stage telescoping handles and Tumi’s patent-pending, easy-to-use Lever Lock™ Expansion System that opens and closes securely to provide two-stages of expansion for additional packing space. Alpha 2 is made from Tumi’s patented, ultra-durable FXT® ballistic nylon. This extra-roomy and versatile 4-wheel case has a removable garment sleeve and a multi-level, expandable main compartment. Reinforced garment sleeve holds up to two suits; interior features tie-down straps and zip pockets for accessories. Three-stage telescoping handle and 4-wheel system with recessed swivel wheels. Note that hanger shown is not included with this item; it may be purchased separately (#0052).

Comments about Koffer auf vier Rollen für eine lange Reise (erweiterbar):

Over the past 25 years, I've owned 6 Tumi packing cases. 4 carry-ons have been for weekly biz trips for domestic travel. I've used the same extended trip expandable 2-wheeler for 20 years for an average 3 international trips per year. It's been in for repair and reconditioning a couple of times. I consider it to be very durable

I decided to purchase both this extended trip expandable 4-wheel Alpha 2 as well as the matching carry-on earlier this year, wanting the ease of the newly designed Alpha 2 4-wheels. This case has been used on 3 international trips and has 3 separate problems. The plastic add-a-bag mounting has broken off and both the front pocket zipper and opening zipper have been pulled out of their tracks by TSA.

I am shocked on poor the quality of this luggage.

Comments about Koffer auf vier Rollen für eine lange Reise (erweiterbar):

This is a solid check-in bag. But...it's a large bag. It will be hard to utilize the full volume of the bag and stay within the airline limit of 50 pounds. It will be a better option if you are an Elite flyer and have the 70 pound limit (American Airlines Executive Platinum). I have only used it once and it fared well similar to all Alpha 2 pieces. I have an Alpha 2 medium size packing case bag from 1999 which still functions well after 16 years of global use. I hope this new bag fares as well. Personally, I don't like the new clam-shell design of the Alpha 2 bags, mostly necessitated by the 4-wheel design.

DUE TO MY PROFESSION I TRAVEL 7-8 MONTHS A YEAR AND WORLDWIDE. HENCE I TRAVEL WITH 4 OF THEM.

THIS TRAVEL COMES WITH A LOT OF ABUSE TO THE SUITCASES. THE 4 TUMI'S ARE SUFFERING BUT WITHSTANDING ALL IT'S ABUSE. NONE OF THE OTHER BRANDS HAVE SURVIVED THIS LONGER THAN A HANDFULL OF TRIPS WITHOUT DESINTEGRATING.

COMING FROM A PROFESSIONAL TRAVELLER, I HAVE 3 REMARKS
      - THE ZIPPER PULLERS BREAK TO EASY
      - WHEN USING THE SUITCASES IN A 2 - 2 CONFIGURATION - SAY 2 ON EACH OF MY HANDS, THE WHEELS ARE JAMING UP AS THEY TOUCH AND INTERFERE EACH OTHER'S SMOTTH RUNNING. I GUESS WITH SINGLE WHEELED TUMI'S THIS PROBLEM WILL BE / IS TACKLED.
      - WHEN LOADING THEM UP TO THE 32KG (70LBS) THE WHEELS HAVE THE TENDECY TO STALL AND BLOCK.

ALL IN ALL THESE ARE THE SUITCASES YOU NEED IF YOU LIKE THE STYLE AND THE QUALITY AS WELL AS IF YOU ARE A HARDCORE TRAVELLER LIKE I AM.

Comments about Koffer auf vier Rollen für eine lange Reise (erweiterbar):

Great bag if you want to show up with clothes that look neat and unwrinkled.

Its large interior can easily swallow five suites and all of the accompanying shoe's, shirts and evening changes.

Very easy to go over the 50LB limit if you fly coach so beware - you will pay.

Simply a breeze to handle and push along with the handle at two different heights for preference. Far better than two wheeled cases and it won't fall over. After a recent trip to Spain and the UK I can say it was noticeably less fatiguing than dragging a two-wheeled case around and I didn't bump into anyone!

Can't say anyting bad about it. Even at nearly a $1,000 dollars, it will outlive me! Get the right bag the first time.

        Good travels!
