Comments about TUMI Kingsville Deluxe Brief Pack®:

I picked out this backpack to take to college with me (as well as something to travel with, especially flying), loving the quality products that Tumi produces. I was also looking at the other Kingsville backpack, but settled on this for size reasons, the size is perfect, it's super lightweight and great for toting around my books to class or whatever else around the city in downtown Boston. The only issue that I have is that when the load is somewhat heavier, the cushioning on the shoulder straps isn't that great. It can get a tad uncomfortable carrying the backpack around for long periods of time, but that's a small trade-off for a great quality product. I'm hoping that the backpack will last me all four years in college, as it is expensive and I'm a college student. But overall, a great product, whether you're looking for a backpack for college, travel, business, or day-to-day needs.

Only con is that the laptop compartment needs to have a pad insert at bottom with velcho. Really shocking that it doesn't

Comments about TUMI Kingsville Deluxe Brief Pack®:

I have an Alpha Bravo Knox backpack that I've used for three years on a daily basis to/from work and on weekend and day trips with the family. I love it, it's worn great, my gear is always protected and functionality is very good. However, there have been times when it is just a little too small to comfortably hold all I want to pack, so I finally decided to invest in a Kingsville Deluxe. I'm so glad that I did. The pockets are much easier to get things in/out of and the space in the larger compartments gives me all the room I need to take extra stuff to work or pack gadget gear for a weekend excursion. The tablet pocket is just icing on the cake.

Comments about TUMI Kingsville Deluxe Brief Pack®:

I use this to travel with a computer, a tablet, some printed materials and lots of adapters, plugs etc. (like any modern electronics user). It will hold a few clotting items as well, if you are so inclined.

The only reason I don't give this five stars is the computer must be taken out at checkpoints. I wish this had been designed with a zipper around the computer pocket so it would be TSA "checkpoint friendly." Other than this, it is as near to perfect as I can think of.

              Inaccurate description; Quality built

Comments about TUMI Kingsville Deluxe Brief Pack®:

This backpack was extremely well built and worthy to be called a TUMI, as I have come to expect from using TUMI luggage and computer cases for 18 years on the road as a consultant. I'd give the design & construction FIVE (5) STARS. I only wish it had lived up to its description.

The description was inaccurate--this backpack it NOT (repeat, NOT) sized for a 17.3" laptop. Yes, I could cram my new Dell 17.3" laptop in there, after a lot of effort--after doing so, I found the backpack fabric stretched overly tight at the unprotected laptop corners (little to no padding there), leaving the computer quite vulnerable to impact damage. The act of cramming the computer into the backpack ran the risk of scratching and abrading the computer case with the zipper when closing or opening the backpack. Overall, the laptop compartment padding was less than adequate; that could be easily remedied by the user by putting the computer inside a neoprene sleeve--if the laptop compartment were long enough... however, since the 17.3" laptop didn't fit without a sleeve to begin with, that is not an option if your laptop is that big. I'd give the product description an unfortunate ONE (1) STAR. TUMI, that is not like you!

I'm guessing that this backpack would work for a computer of screen size 17" or less--but I suggest you try it before you buy it, especially if you take the prudent step of protecting your computer with a padded sleeve of some sort.

Overall, I'd give this product a rating of THREE (3) STARS, primarily because of the inaccurate product description. I really, really wish I could use this product.

Comments about TUMI Kingsville Deluxe Brief Pack®:

I am an international traveller and have been using the Tumi T-Pass for the past few year. After two trips with Kingsville, I am much happier with my upgraded choice. The extra room and the ability to take it off my back and use the Add-a-bag sleeve to add to my carry-on is worth the money.

Comments about TUMI Kingsville Deluxe Brief Pack®:

I only own Tumi baggage (8 pieces) and some are over 20 years old and still in great shape.

This bag is comfortable but it did not come with any strap to connect the two shoulder strap to keep it from slipping off your shoulders even though it has a place to connect one.

Very irritating when you set it down at the airport or in your office and it tips over forward onto the openings so you cant access them. The bottom should have been sloped the other way.

Comments about TUMI Kingsville Deluxe Brief Pack®:

I'm really enjoying this bag! It's well designed and there are plenty of pockets and compartments for everything I need for work; I can see it working as a travel carry-on as well. It has a compact feel on my back and doesn't move around too much when running to catch a train. It also is easy to carry using the handle – feels like a briefcase. The outer shell seems tough and looks great. I've gotten many compliments and questions about it. My only question is about the durability of the inner lining. It feels smooth and structured, but I can't tell if corners or sharp objects will, or will not, scratch or tear the lining. This is mostly because I'm unfamiliar with the fabric.

I also have the Alpha Bravo Knox backpack. This Kingsville Deluxe bag is a big improvement. It has more capacity, deeper exterior pockets, the two-tone trim is very handsome (I bought the Hickory model).

I like the luggage sleeve on the back but it seems just a wee bit tight for my Briggs-Riley suitcase handle. My hope is that the sleeve opening will stretch with use and fit more easily on the luggage handle.

                    I highly recommend this bag.

I was looking for a bag that was more friendly to my back on daily commutes and on weekend to carry camera gear. I wanted something roomy and that didn't look like a college student's bag. This fits the bill! It is comfortable, roomy and looks like a bag for an adult. It has tons of pockets for commuting, train passes, water bottle, etc. and converts easily for weekend use. The Baltic blue is a great color!
