      Comments about Kessler Large Duffel:

I've owned this bag for 8 years. It is the single most versatile bag I have every owned. For 5 years I commuted weekly between the midwest and east coast. I wanted a single bag that could do everything - carry a laptop, carry clothes and a pair of shoes, carry tools, carry files, and any combination of those items. Plus, it had to fit as carry-on luggage. I could not have picked a more perfect bag. Recently I "upgraded" it by adding a garment packer which fits nicely inside and allows me to even carry a suit when I need to. When it's not filled, the Kessler easily fits under an airline seat, and when it's maxed out, it holds a ton and still fits in the overhead. Interior shoe holders, exterior pockets for easy access to plane tickets and cell phones, plus my 15' thinline laptop fits in the innermost exterior pocket! Work on your computer in the waiting area and when it is time to board, slide it in the exterior pocket and never have to disturb anything packed inside. Really, who wants to have to carry their laptop together with their socks and t-shirts and then have to dig through everything to use it on a flight?? If you are a regular commuter and are looking for "one bag", stop looking - you found it with the Kessler duffle.

        Comments about Kessler Large Duffel:

Bought the Kessler on sale at my local Tumi store. A great bag and a reduced price, score! New version is two-tone black and brown.

Best way I've found to pack the Kessler is using packing cubes. If its not "over-stuffed" it will fit under "most" airline seats. Even the smallish United Commuter from Philly to Chicago. Also, with flying so much fun these days, it's great to use one of the outer pocket's for the de rigor ziplock bag full of your stuff.

Big interior pockets, secured with straps will swallow a size 10 shoe w/shoe tree, one per pocket. Or a 11" MBAir in one and an iPad in the other.

Only complaint I really have is I would like Tumi to line their black bags with red, blue or even silver material. Would make it easier to find stuff with a quick glance as opposed to staring into a black hole.

          Comments about Kessler Large Duffel:

This duffel is small, stylish and durable - exactly what I need for the many field trips I make to less developed countries. I can pack essentials in this bag and go for days without having to open the larger suitcase. Love having the strap option and how well it slides onto the large suitcase handles. It's easy to clean, inside and out - just hose it off and let it air dry.

          Comments about Kessler Large Duffel:

I use this bag on nearly every trip, which at this point is 25-30 per year for both business and personal.

I originally purchase the bag as a replacement for a Tumi satchel, which I loved but didn't have external accessory pockets I desperately wanted to quick/easy access small electronics accessories, passport, etc.

All in all, I've been impressed. It has fit the bill but with a few minor issues that prevent me from giving it 5 stars.

First, I never had problems putting the Tumi satchels under the seat in front of me on a flight. However, there are times when outside pockets of the Kessler prevent it from going fully under the seat. This is a challenge on full flights, especially if you are using the Kessler as your +1 carry on. As a result, I've had more than one attendant ask me to check the back...fortunately, I've avoided it in the nick of time, but I get a little stressed waiting for the moment when I actually might need to do so.

Second, I really wish the zippers on the outside pockets had an ancor that could be used to attach a lock to the zippers when closed. If you are like me, you'll use these pockets for some relatively vital items...which i would prefer to add a little security from time to time (e.g. storying my passport or phone when in route).

One last small note and NOT really the Kessler's problem, but a mistake perhaps on my part...although it has a zippered section to go overhandle, you shouldn't expect to use this for any luggage smaller than a Medium hardside. I've tried it. When packed full the Kessler is too large and too heavy to place on top of International or Contintental sized hardside luggage, toppling it every time. Again, this is just a note, not a criticism of the Kessler really.

All in all, however, I would definitely recommend the bag and it has been a great companion over the last 125K miles in flight.

          Comments about Kessler Large Duffel:

I love Tumi products and have a few bags and a briefcase. I am about to upgrade our luggage and will be purchasing Tumi hard sides. That said, I love the look, quality, and durability of this bag. I wanted something to throw in the car for a long weekend or overnight that was not a duffle bag. I thought this would fit the bill.My issue (that I did not realize would be an issue when I bought it) is that it is too narrow and too tall. I am 5'6" and don't like how it its me when carrying it. Also, while ok for casual trips of jeans and shorts, I feel it is too narrow when packing slacks or nicer shirts. I don't like to how I have to fold them to fit.I agree with other reviewers that it is a great bag, but my 3 stars instead of 5 are because of the two reasons above. I wish I would have purchased the wider, shorter bag instead. I would recommend looking at both before deciding on which one. I have nay used this 3 times and really do't use it much. I want the other but hate to spend another [$].

            Comments about Kessler Large Duffel:

Kudos to the Kessler Large Duffle. My wife got one about a year ago (spruce) and I got jealous, and so got one myself. It has been absolutely wonderful, and practical. Actually, it has more room that you might think, and it is a perfect "second bag" that can be brought on board a plane since it is not too big. It attaches to the handle of a rolling carry-on (get a Tumi one, I use the wider shorter version), and it also fits under the seat in front of you with no problem. I throw my laptop in there, all the accessories, my mp3, headphones, and even a sweater if necessary. It fits very comfortably. I got mine monogrammed for added personalization. I highly recommend this for the frequent traveler, and I don't think you'll be disappointed. (No, I don't work for Tumi, but I strongly believe in their products.) Enjoy.

                Comments about Kessler Large Duffel:

The Kessler Duffel is hands down the best bag I have ever owned! It easily fits 3-4 days of clothes (I am an over packer too.) My favorite part is the built in shoe compartment on the inside, great for a second pair of shoes on your trip and keep the bottom tread away from the rest of your clothes. The outside pockets hold so much, plus the zippers that run the length of the bag are great for sandals. The zippers are great, but can be difficult to pull at times, I think it is the antique look to them.

I would highly recommend this bag to anyone!

I could not be more happy with that bag. I thought it would be a perfect 2nd bag, as a matter of fact, it's my number one ! It's bigger than the picture shows, works for more than a week- end trip and the linen color I've chosen gives it a perfect feminine touch. I've even decided to by the Belvair daily tote to match it.
