I've been using this product for years. Putting your laptop in a laptop case just isn't enough. It's always good to put it in this sleeve, and then inside your laptop case. It's just that extra layer of protection for your laptop. It's also nice for those times when you know you're only going to need your laptop for a short time on battery, and you're not going to need to tug around your entire laptop bag. Just stick in in the sleeve and go!
